Musikmesse is a gigantic trade show that takes place in Frankfurt, Germany, every year. The show encompasses everything to do with music, from grand pianos to speaker manufacturers to specialist plug-in companies.
We were there this year and proudly showing off not only the "New Species" (CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900) but the brand new professional effects laden DJ mixer, the DJM-2000. The DJM-2000 was launched at Mixmove in Paris, two weeks earlier, and at Musikmesse we launched the brand new CDJ-350 multi-format player and DJM-350 SD card recording DJ mixer.
The show took place over four days and from the video you can see we had our full range of products to try out. We also held a daily competition where once you had filled out your details you would be given a wrist band and entered into a prize draw for the chance to win prizes ranging from a pair of HDJ-2000s to a UDG bag and a limited edition CDJ-400!
The atmosphere on the stand was electric with people loving the brand new features of the new products, specifically with the SD card recording feature of the DJM-350 where the DJ can record up to three hours of their DJ set on an SD card directly in the mixer and the functionality of using the new CDJ-350 with USB devices prepared in rekordbox and BPM lock for DJ's learning to mix.
Pioneer Germany's DJ's Marco and Maui gave frequent demonstrations of the new DJM-2000 & CDJ-2000 as well as including showing off the brand new functionality built in to both rekordbox and the DJM-2000 that allows the DJ to drag tracks from rekordbox to a player on-screen and the track will be uploaded to the corresponding CDJ, while also allowing the DJ to browse the rekordbox library live from the CDJ. Remember rekordbox will be available as a free download from May 17th.
