Last night we followed Jesse Rose who has been producing and playing records for over fourteen years now.
Raised on an upbringing of Motown Soul, Jazz and Eighties Funk, during the last years Jesse Rose stood up as one of the most interesting musical dj's and producers in the scene.
This year he once again proved his production skills on his What Do You Do If You Don't? album, featuring singles "Touch My Horn" and "Forget My Name" (with Hot Chip).
After Jesse we've tried DJ Hells underwear. Next to this surprising release he also came up with his magnum opus this year.
On "Teufelswerk" he's touching Pink Floyd, balearic, Kraftwerk and Moroder, from disco to techno. Produced by Peter Kruder (K&D), the album suprises many featuring guestvocals from Bryan Ferry and even P Diddy.
"By the end of the '80s, techno was said to be the soundtrack of the future" dj Hell says. "I believed in that too. Nowadays, we are living that future and it's nothing like we'd imagined it to be." That is why Hell likes to think of his new album as a soundtrack for this very moment. Given the fact Hell has proved he's able to feel what's going on (he has signed Miss Kittin, Zombie Nation and Vitalic back in the days!).
