With 2009 being the year that the prolific techno warrior marked 15 years of releasing records in Japan, Ken Ishii chats to DJsounds at club Noxx in Antwerp, Belgium.
Topics under discussion range from his early days of DJing and producing, to his very first release, on R&S Records, in Belgium, to his current projects, which include his Warrior On The Decks – Play, Pause and Play 2 mix album, on Sublime Records, and his new iPhone application.
Ken also talks about his DJ set-up, one of his favourite gigs of all time, which turns out to be Monegros Desert Festival in Spain, and his dedication to his next anniversary.
Also linked to his 15th anniversary celebrations are two new albums: K|15 – The Best of Ken Ishii, and The Works + The Unreleased & Unexepected.
This December, Ken plays a string of gigs across Japan and Spain, and he will play in the New Year 2010 at club Ageha, in Tokyo. Words: LRC
