The 24-hour pedal people: Eastnor Castle, Hereford, UK

Thu 19.03.2009

Simon Hart of Pioneer Europe explains what happened when he met the 24-hour pedal people... aka the Mountain Mayhem biking crew! ‘The pursuit of dance music can take us to all kinds of places, including this extreme sports 24-hour mountain bike event in the Malvern Hills, Hereford UK – also home of the annual Big Chill festival! Here Pioneer was asked by the elite Scott Bikes UK team to provide the tunes throughout the night to keep their team of four riders hyped up and firmly in pursuit of first place. ‘It was a chance to put the CDJ-400/DJM-400 set-up through its paces to blend some high-energy beats for all who came. The talented Scott team completed an impressive 31-laps to beat off all competition and retain first place for another year. ‘Mountain Mayhem is the world's biggest 24-hour mountain bike event, and anyone can enter a team or ride solo. The idea being, you don't stop and carry on until the sun comes up... sound familiar?’ The Original Source Mountain Mayhem 09 will take place 19th – 21st June.
